Does Reality Matter?

The first 90 days of a new year is crucial to your business success and it sets the tone for how the rest of the year will play out. Having said that, I want to know how you are doing as you come to the end of another quarter in 2019? If you are not where you want to be, don’t panic. Today is the perfect day to start fresh.

Why we haven’t reached those goals?

Let’s be honest. If any of us are going to succeed, we must be ready to face reality. Did you know, that it is easier to go from failure to success than it is from excuse to success? Let me share with you why that is. If we begin to lose sight of reality, we begin to lose our way. Secondly, we cannot create any positive changes if we are not being real about what is going on. And finally, we cannot improve if we are kidding ourselves. And that is what excuses do – they pull us away from reality.

Three realities of Life

Although everyone has a different form of reality, there is one thing I am sure of.

  1. Life is difficult
  2. Life is difficult for everyone
  3. Life is more difficult for some than for others

When we stop growing and learning, we make life difficult. When we don’t take time to think, we make life difficult. And when we choose not to face reality – life becomes extremely difficult.

Face Reality, Then Take These Steps

Remember the power of words. Talk about the vision before the vision is there. Stop saying “I can’t” and say “how can I” – not only what you speak but what you think.

Learn and invest in yourself. What do you want to be known for? Spend some time learning more of that each day. We can always learn something new. Listen to podcasts, intentionally choose a book study, join a mastermind, work with a coach. Whatever you do, keep learning.

Daily 5 nightly 3. Every day, write down the 5 things you need to complete that day for it to be a valuable day.  By the end of 30 days you have 150 acts of greatness – amazing right? At night, ask yourself what are 3 little wins you can celebrate today and write them down. When you start shifting yourself from what worked in the day instead of what didn’t you train your brain to focus on what is working and you will start to transform your mind.

Reality is the foundation of learning. And if we face reality knowing that we will learn, grow and ultimately succeed – your life will be so different. By looking at our struggles and realities straight on, we create opportunities in our life. And if we are to learn and move forward, we must build a strong foundation for learning, problem solving and evaluating performance. And that foundation is reality.
